an important message from the free range knife enthusiasts association

As this blog mentioned on Twitter, an emerging pastime in California is DIY slaughter. Unfortunately for these hobbyists, even in the foreign land of NorCal their name does not endear them to the wider home owning public. That’s where the Free Range Knife Enthusiasts Association comes in. With a name any young mother could love, the FRKEA—pronounced “freak”—advocates on behalf of people who like their meat fresh and right off the sidewalk.

One complaint about FRKEA is that humanely keeping knives all around the house poses a danger to children. Well, have you ever heard of the 29th Amendment? The fact is that most studies prove that guns are far more dangerous than knives. Just ask any Animal Protein Professional who regularly employs a knife to professionally cut up protein. Most of them have most of their fingers. It’s true. I counted. For the still concerned parent, is is advisable to only own knives too heavy for your child to pick up. But don’t keep the knives in a rack. Knives were born to be free. Just like the farm animals walking down Main Street to the FRKEA convention.
